Auto Meter is launching a new generation of its Ultimate line of tachometers.
The newly revealed tachometers are the Ultimate III and Ultimate DL. Auto Meter stated these two new tachometers offer more advanced data acquisition systems in what the company believes is an affordable, convenient, and compact package.
The Ultimate III combines a 30 percent weight reduction over Ultimate II tachometers, a four stage shift light control, choices of 9,000 and 11,000 RPM reading scope, a new and improved ARMS (automatic recording memory start) system for worry free driver operation, and playback data right on the tach itself, or easily download it to DataPro analysis software.
For users in need of more, the Ultimate DL (DataLogger) includes the Ultimate III features and adds to your information arsenal by providing connections for, and ability to record Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio and Pressure channel data. Auto Meter explained this extra information can help you diagnose fuel delivery issues, improve power tuning, and raise MPH in the traps.
The Ultimate line of tachometers goes back to 1995 when Auto Meter introduced the Ultimate Playback tachometer, which allowed the user to record and compare up to 4 passes of engine RPM data at 100 samples per second, providing essential and accessible performance information in the hands of sportsman racers in a familiar and easy to use package.
In 2001, Auto Meter introduced Generation 3 Ultimate II tachometers, adding Tach Facts Software and the ability to record and compare both engine and driveshaft RPM on either the tach itself or a PC.
With the Ultimate III and Ultimate DL tachometers, Auto Meter believes it can now provide all the essential tools needed to dial in your setup minus the complication or expense.
Interestingly, this new generation of Ultimate tachometers will cost less than the previous Ultimate models, with a starting price in the U.S. of $599 for the Ultimate III.
