{"id":2428,"date":"2013-08-06T09:54:25","date_gmt":"2013-08-06T14:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/v8passion.com\/?p=2428"},"modified":"2013-08-06T09:54:25","modified_gmt":"2013-08-06T14:54:25","slug":"mustang-turning-50-in-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/v8passion.com\/en\/non-classe-en\/mustang-turning-50-in-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Mustang Turning 50 in 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know Ford\u2019s Mustang will be turning fifty in April?<\/p>\n<p>Ford is launching \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLh_g4AJrndncJto0t1Tu4TiFKY5rXJsZS\">Mustang Countdown<\/a>,\u2019 an online video series throwing the spotlight on the legendary sports car and the culture that has formed around it all across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>This video series will also be part of the celebration leading up to the 50<sup>th<\/sup> birthday of the car on April 17, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Kicking off the series \u2013 Where It All Started: The Mustang 1 Concept \u2013 turns the clock back to the 1962 debut of the first concept car to wear the pony badge.<\/p>\n<p>From there, other episodes lift the lid on Ford\u2019s exhaustive Mustang archives, Mustang toys, custom Mustangs and more all featuring unique and often rare footage, exclusive new interviews and expert insight.<\/p>\n<p>Video | Where It All Started: The Mustang 1 Concept:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t8kWWpzm2Ho?list=PLh_g4AJrndncJto0t1Tu4TiFKY5rXJsZS\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yhAz34zeXdA\">RC Movie Magic: Filming a Chase<\/a>\u201d, takes a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of filmmaker Zach King\u2019s recent project \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DapPl0lD_9s\">The Clich\u00e9 RC Action Chase<\/a>.\u201d That short film went viral earlier this year, garnering nearly 3 million views on YouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Just like the extensive filmography featuring Ford Mustang over the past 49 years, King\u2019s video puts the Mustang in a prominent role. A pair of radio controlled Ford Mustangs star in an action-packed sequence that features drifting around corners, tight racing and helicopter gunships, all without any computer-generated imagery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFans around the world share a passion for Mustang that embodies the freedom of the open road and the spirit of performance driving,\u201d said Steve Ling, Ford car marketing manager. \u201cThe \u2018Mustang Countdown\u2019 series is another way in which Ford is honoring that heritage with numerous celebrations over the next year,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ford says upcoming episodes will tackle video games, Mustang\u2019s competition heritage custom restomods and more.<\/p>\n<p>More than 9.2 million Ford Mustangs have been sold since the car\u2019s 1964 debut.
