Reputable auction house Barrett-Jackson entered in a partnership with Reno\u2019s Hot August Nights. Born out of this partnership is the inaugural Barrett-Jackson Cup, to be awarded this week during the Downtown Reno Show-n-Shine event, part of the Hot August Nights celebrations.<\/p>\n

As a result of this partnership, the event will include a $40,000 prize purse, with $20,000 being awarded to the car that earns the coveted Ultimate Best of Show Award.<\/p>\n

This comes on the heels of Barrett-Jackson\u2019s<\/a> agreement with the world\u2019s premiere classic car and nostalgia festival, to hold the first-ever Hot August Nights Auction Presented by Barrett-Jackson<\/i> at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center August 8-10, 2013.<\/p>\n

Participants in the Downtown Reno Show-n-Shine will compete in daily competitions beginning Wednesday, August 7 through Friday, August 9. Fifteen daily Best of Show winners will receive a ribbon and an invitation to return on Saturday for the Finals to take place Saturday, August 10.<\/p>\n

The forty-five Finalists will be staged in the Silver Legacy Ballroom where the top five will be selected and then sent to the Barrett-Jackson Auction for the final judging.<\/p>\n

Once the Final Five have been judged at the auction by a team of Barrett-Jackson officials and placed in their perspective winning category of 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>, 3rd<\/sup>, 4th<\/sup> or Ultimate Best of Show Winner, they will proceed back to downtown Reno and be staged on Virginia Street for the Awards Presentation during a fireworks display presented by the Silver Legacy Resort Casino.<\/p>\n

The Barrett-Jackson Cup itself will be on display at the Hot August Nights<\/a> headquarters located at 1425 E. Greg Street in Sparks, Nev.<\/p>\n

\"barrett-jackson-cup\"<\/a>Ultimate Best of Show winner will take $20,000 home as well as the inaugural Barrett-Jackson Cup; 1st<\/sup> runner up will receive $10,000, 2nd<\/sup> runner up $6,000, 3rd<\/sup> runner up $3,000 and 4th<\/sup> runner up $1,000. To top it off, Chevrolet Performance has donated an LS3 Crate Engine with 430 horsepower to be awarded to the Ultimate Best of Show winner.<\/p>\n

Assisting Barrett-Jackson in this inaugural Barrett-Jackson Cup will be four well-recognized names in the business: Bobby Alloway; Pete Chapouris; Bob Johnson and Bob Millard.<\/p>\n
